Framework: Climate Change and Health -- Opportunities for Action
Climate change has been called the greatest health challenge of the 21st century. Because climate change affects the very foundations for health -- our air, water, food, shelter and social stability -- addressing climate change has profound implications for public health's core mission to protect health and improve health equity.
This framework shows the intersections between health and climate change, highlighting the many opportunities to address climate change through our work in public health, and to improve health and equity through how we address climate change.
The framework is being developed by a project of the Public Health Institute's Center for Climate Change and Health, with support from the Kresge Foundation.
